firstname.lastname@example.org LOCR has been the pinnacle of Ali's rowing career. Her first coaching opportunities came during the 2012-13 school year for the Novice Men’s team and then again in the Spring/Summer of 2014 for the Varsity Men's team. Ali is thrilled to be making her third appearance as a coach for LOCR. Ali began with LOCR back in February of 2007 during her eighth grade year, initially intending to row but eventually falling into the coxswain role. As a youth athlete, she competed every season at local and regional regattas, even having an opportunity to attend the San Diego Crew Classic in 2010 in the Women’s Youth 8+. Ali was able to qualify for the Youth National Competition with the following crews: 2009 - Men's Youth Lightweight 8+; 2010 - Women's Youth Lightweight 4+; and 2011 - Men's Youth 4+. During her senior year, she was fortunate to become one of four captains to the team she had grown up with. At the end of her final year, she received the first ever Team Award. Outside of high school rowing, Ali has been involved with a number teams in the area, including coxing a few seasons at her current school of Portland State University, coxing for local masters teams (Station L, Portland Women’s Rowing, and Willamette), and teaching learn to row classes with Oregon Rowing Unlimited. Rowing has been an integral part of Ali’s life for nearly the past 10 years and she looks forward to yet another opportunity of growth this upcoming season with LOCR.
