SPRING 2012 Classes
Sweep Rowing and Sculling Classes Sweep rowing is the technique of rowing with one oar per person. Rowers sit in two, four, or eight-person boats, often steered by a coxswain. Sculling is the technique of using two oars in unison. Scullers learn in instructional single shells. Both can advance to team participation after classes are taken.
Rowing/Sculling Levels 1 & 2 - AM Lessons - This class is an introduction to rowing for those with little to no prior rowing experience. Participants begin by learning rowing terminology and the basics of the stroke on the rowing machine, and then progress to the water. The focus is a fun and informative introduction to the sport of rowing. There are no make-up sessions for this class. No make-up classes. *No class May 28-30 & July 2-4*

Mid Morning & Weekend Sculling - Sculling classes are taught in single shells with a low student to instructor ratio. Beginning or experienced scullers can take advantage of the low river traffic and enjoy the Willamette’s tranquility while learning a new sport and getting a full body workout. No make-up classes. *No Class May 28-30 & July 2-4*
