Rowing has been deemed the ultimate team sport. It emphasizes not only individual performance but working together as a unit to achieve specific goals. Rowing requires commitment and mental and physical discipline. LOCR is a successful and competitive junior program that does not require any previous rowing experience to participate. LOCR is available to any student athlete grades 8-12 that is looking for a challenging team environment.

The Junior Rowing Team practices Monday through Friday from 4-6 PM.  We have a Fall racing season, Winter training season, and a Spring racing season.  We highly encourage our athletes to commit to all 3 seasons, but do not require it.  The dates of our season are as follows:

Fall Season - September 6th - November 12th

Winter Season - November 15th - February 18th (except Winter Break)

Spring Season - February 21st - May 28th

During the Fall and Spring racing seasons the team travels to regattas around the Northwest.  On the Junior Schedule page of this website you can see the dates and locations of our regattas.  As any of our athletes will tell you, regattas are a blast!  The athletes form lasting bonds with their teammates on these trips.  Meeting the challenges of competition with focus and resolve, our athletes learn a great deal about themselves and teammates.  Win or lose, our team focuses on learning from each result and strives to achieve the goals they have set for themselves.  We welcome anyone that is eager to work hard and take part in these endeavors.

LOCR is a non-profit organization and depends on fees collected from program participants for our operating budget.  Fees for the Junior Rowing Team cover coaching costs, equipment maintenance, gas for safety launches, and insurance premiums.  We make every effort possible to keep our costs low and affordable.  Fees for the Junior Rowing Team are as follow:

Fall Season - $425.00*

*Regattas costs are not included in the seasonal fees and must be paid separately.
