Recreational and Competitive Rowing for Experienced Rowers

If you are an adult rower, interested in fitness, improving technique or competing in regattas, local or across the country, we encourage you to participate in our Masters sweep rowing and sculling programs.

This group includes post-collegiate rowers, individuals who have completed Learn to Scull or Learn to Row classes and rowers who were introduced to rowing at another club.

Winter/Spring Rowing Season

During the Winter Season, LOCR takes time off the water and moves indoors. Winter is a great time to focus on the physical conditioning and technique that supplements the on-water training we do in Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Spring/Summer Rowing Season

Our Masters Competitive Racing Group will be working out Monday, Wednesday and Fridays mornings from 5:30 to 7:30 AM, starting in May of 2011. Saturday's are reserved for squad scrimmage or race pieces with other local clubs.

If you are looking for recreational rowing or sculling we also offer several classes and opportunities to enjoy the water and enhance your skills. Please contact our Registrar for further details.

Interested in Competing?

We are fortunate to live in the Pacific Northwest - a thriving hotbed of rowing teams and competition.  There are a number of regattas close by and fortunately we can get there with ease. There are even a few others throughout the country that we may even go to from time to time. If you are ready to commit to working hard at all practices, both on and off the water, as well as coach-directed fitness and technique workout sessions on your own and with teammates, you may be interested in the Racing group.  Perhaps this is the one year you decide to go for it, or a day without sweat in your eyes isn’t worth getting out of bed – whatever is driving you, get your rewards with the Racing group:

What: Team Practice and participation in regattas in Portland, Seattle and Eugene plus the NW Regionals at Vancouver Lake and potential additional regattas - San Diego Crew Classic, Masters Nationals, the Head of the Charles in Boston and Gorge/Elk, in Victoria, BC, Canada .

Times: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 5:30 am - 7:15 am (plus additional workouts as directed). Please contact the Club Registrar for more details.
