Working out has been a challenge for many during these socially distanced months. Virtual challenges and competitions are becoming the norm and have shown that creativity is our greatest weapon against the isolation. We have hosted daily weekday zoom sessions at 4:30 and 5pm for juniors (and motivated masters) as well as 3x a week morning ergs with Leo for Masters (and motivated juniors) These sessions have allowed us to keep a modicum of connection.
Some of us have been able to step up to the challenge of getting creative and keeping connected with virtual workouts and challenges. On spotlight this week is Josh L, Ben C, and Ethan M who took the time to submit a 2k for regionals and qualify for the virtual national championships at the end of this week! These guys have been proactive and dedicated to themselves and their improvment. This will be the first virtual nationals ever and i'm proud that these guys have stepped up to represent LOCR against the nation!
Black Lives matter
Amidst the recent protest i think its important we all stop and think about our place in this social system we all subscribe to. Its important not to look away, NOT to stay silent. Raise your awareness and understanding of the situation we are in with knowledge and not speculation or opinions.
Its impossible to empathize with things you cant understand, which is where knowledge is true power. As an individual who claims to be a citizen of this country, state, and city you have to start by educating yourself. I'm proud to have rowed by 8:46 piece with the nationals guys above in honor of George Floyd on the day of his memorial. #rowforequality is the hashtag to use if you can commit to the piece.
All programs before June 15th are cancelled,
