SWEEP OR SCULL?
Sweep rowing is the technique of rowing with one oar per person. Rowers sit in two, four, or eight-person boats, often steered by a coxswain. Sculling is the technique of using two oars in unison, and can row in single, double, or quad boats.
LOCR offers Learn to Row Classes for both sweep and sculling, depending upon interest. Both can advance to the Masters Program after successful completion of a Learn to Row class.
