Todd Vogt joined LOCR in 2017, after spending the prior eight years coaching at the collegiate level, including a four-year stint at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as the Assistant Women’s Lightweight Coach. Todd first began his coaching career at LOCR as the Novice Men’s Coach from 2006 to 2009.
This past season, Todd helped the Wisconsin Lightweights win the Konrad Ulbrich Team Points Trophy at the Women’s Eastern Sprints Regatta, their conference championships. At the 2017 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships he led the Lightweight 4+ and Lightweight 2x to 2nd place finishes. He also led the 3rd Varsity Lightweight 8+ to a 2nd place finish at the 2017 Women’s Eastern Sprints Regatta.
During the 2016 season, he coached the Lightweight 4+ to a 1st place finish at the IRA National Championship and the Lightweight 2x to a 2nd place finish. He also led the 3rd Varsity Lightweight 8+ to a 1st place finish at the 2016 Eastern Women’s Sprints Regatta.
Todd also coached the Lightweight 4+ to a 2nd place finish and the Lightweight 2x to a 1st place finish at the 2015 IRA National Championship and he led the Novice Lightweight 4+ to a 1st place finish at the 2015 Eastern Women’s Sprints Regatta. During the 2014 season, Todd led the Lightweight 4+ to a 1st place finish at the IRA National Championship and he coached the Novice Lightweight 4+ to a 1st place finish at Eastern Women’s Sprints.
Prior to Madison, Todd spent a year as Assistant Coach with the University of Portland Women’s Rowing Team, helping the team earn a 3rd place finish at the 2013 West Coast Conference Championships, their highest finish ever. Todd spent the 2012 season as Men’s Assistant Coach at Lewis and Clark College and was Assistant Coach with the Willamette University Rowing Team from 2010-2011, helping the team to a 12th place national ranking. Todd also has significant club coaching experience. He was the head coach for the Portland Women's Rowing Club from 2011 to 2012 and spent his summers coaching at the Pennsylvania Athletic Club (Penn AC) in Philadelphia, PA, and the Craftsbury Sculling Center in Craftsbury, VT. While at Penn AC, the lightweight 8+ Todd coached won the 2010 USRowing Club National Championships.
He rowed at the University of Buffalo for four years, with the West Side Rowing Club in Buffalo, NY (1997-2000), and at the Portland Boat Club in Portland, OR (2000-2013). His rowing accomplishments include a 3rd place finish in the Club 4+ at the 2004 Head of the Charles Regatta.
